Maxime Renaux has withdrawn from the MXGP this weekend as he’s still recovering from a crash and the injuries that followed earlier this season.

  • During Race 2 at the Swiss GP (April 21), Renaux was locked in a battle for second place when he was launched over the handlebars with three laps to go, resulting in a heavy crash.
  • Thankfully, medical scans confirmed no fractures, but he did suffer an acute contusion to his left hip and gluteal region, causing significant pain.
  • Initially, Yamaha hoped he could recover in time for the Portuguese GP. While he ultimately returned there after showing progress, the injury persisted enough for him to skip the Finnish GP entirely to focus on a full recovery before returning to racing.

Max and Yamaha are prioritizing his healing and long‑term fitnessover immediate competition. Letting his body rest now should give him the best chance to come back strong for the remainder of the season.
