It has been confirmed that Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha phenom Haiden Deegan could line up in the 450 class at the final round of the AMA Motocross season—if he wraps up the 250 title early. Deegan began riding a 450 machine this week, and team owner and founder Bobby Regan has been highly impressed with the speed he has already shown. As a result, the prospect of seeing Deegan battle against the Lawrence brothers, Tomac, and Sexton could very well become a reality in the coming weeks.
Deegan currently holds a 45-point lead over second-place Jo Shimoda, so an early clinch of the title is more than possible. The Temecula native needs to be 50 points ahead after the next two rounds in order to secure the title early and become eligible to race in the 450 class at the final event.
