Simon Längenfelder notched up another victory at this past weekend’s MXGP of the Czech Republic, with many German fans making the short trip to Loket to watch the MX2 points leader claim his fourth overall win of the season. The German talent now leads the way in most key categories in 2025: 142 laps led, 8 moto wins, and a 47-point advantage over second-placed Andrea Adamo.
Despite claiming victory in Czechia, Längenfelder’s last outing at the KymiRing revealed a potential chink in his armour – possibly giving Adamo and de Wolf a chance to regain some much-needed momentum in the title fight.
“I’m really happy to bounce back, especially after lets say the bad weekend in Finland, it was important for me, for the championship, for everything, to know that I could do it you know because sometimes you just don’t have the weekends you hope for and you’re not 100%.”

In MX2 Race 1, he put on a clinic against his peers, stretching his lead to 20 seconds during the race – a performance that no doubt injects fear into the title challengers. With each passing round, there are fewer opportunities to regain lost ground, and losing by such a margin will certainly plant seeds of doubt in the minds of those chasing the German pilot.
“The start was awesome” he reflected. “Taking the holeshot is the best thing that can happen I think, it doesn’t really matter what track, you’re just out of trouble and you can do your own thing. You see all the lines, you can choose wherever you want to go.”
“You see, Kay (de Wolf) and Andrea (Adamo) were in the back fighting hard, crashing. I just got a really big lead on the other guys and could manage a nice first race.”
The MXGP of Czech Republic is, in many ways, a ‘home’ race for Längenfelder, with the Loket circuit located closer to his family home than the German Grand Prix venue in Teutschenthal. As a result, there was plenty of fanfare for the #27, something he spoke of with great fondness.
“Yeah, I would say I felt at home” he affirmed, when asked about the German support. “There were so many German flags and fans around the track, almost everywhere, I didn’t even know where to salute on the sighting lap! So it definitely felt like a home GP, even though it was in a different country. It’s just one hour from my original home, so it’s awesome, awesome to be here and to have all the fans at the track.”
