The Crendon Tru7 Honda have announced their rider line-up for the 2026 season and it is the same trio of Conrad Mewse and Jamie Carpenter competing in the MX1 class alongside veteran Jake Nicholls in the MX2 class.
Mewse is currently undefeated in 2025 and amidst the speculation that the 26-year old could be changing teams, the four-time British champion will continue to race for the Crendon Tru7 Honda team. Jamie Carpenter is sidelined for the remainder of the season, but was showing podium threat until the injury. Whilst racing isn’t Nicholls main focus anymore, he is another great piece to the team – bringing valuable experience and knowledge he has gained throughout his long racing career.
Whilst it is unknown what overseas races the team will compete in, there will be a secondary national championship which they will race alongside the British Championship.
Conrad Mewse: “I feel really at home with the Crendon Tru7 Honda team and am totally thrilled to be staying next season. Everyone from team owner Dave Thorpe to the team manager Ryan Thorpe, the mechanics Rob Boseley, Will Irvine and Luke Humphreys are totally professional and work incredibly hard to make sure we have the best chance of success at all times. The team are a level above the rest and the bike is always simply stunning. I’m proud to be part of the team. I’m hoping for even more success in future with the team and Honda.”
Jamie Carpenter: “I’m so happy to be staying with the Crendon Tru7 Honda team next season – especially as I’m injured right now. It’s the third time I’ve had knee surgery like this so I know exactly what I need to do to recover and start next season as strong and fit as I can. I aim to be back riding by January and then hopefully be even stronger next season. The CRF450R is not a new model so I know I won’t need much time to get it dialled in again. And staying with the team – who are just amazing – gives me lots of confidence. I’m already looking forward to racing in the British championship, the British GP and the Weston Beach Race.”
Jake Nicholls: “Most people know I’m no longer a full-time professional rider as I work full-time. But I love riding and racing, especially on the latest Honda CRF250R which is such a good bike. I’m having lots of fun racing this season so I’m more than happy to carry on next year with the team.”
Dave Thorpe: To get all the same riders signed up so early is fantastic news and is a real credit to the team, Honda UK, our technical partners and sponsors. Consistency is a great thing when it comes to building a successful team. Of course, our goal is to win the British MX1 championship and with Conrad and Jamie on the Honda CRF450R, we are in a very strong position. Both riders are very professional, fully dedicated to racing at the highest level and have lots of talent.
“And it’s also great that Jake wants to continue in MX2 and we are fully behind him. He obviously has a vast amount of experience in the MX2 class and has helped develop the CRF250R into something very special this year. For someone who can’t spend lots of time testing and riding due to his work commitments, it’s just incredible he can still run such a fast pace and challenge for podium results.”
