Rick Elzinga tied his season best result at his home Grand Prix in Arnhem, securing 7th overall. The Dutchman has struggled with injuries this season and is approaching the end of his MX2 career due to aging out, so his showing in Arnhem was much needed and a reflection of his true ability.

His speed was on show from the get go, finishing second in time practice and held top spot for a while before de Wolf’s late hot lap. Elzinga reminded the paddock of his true self in Race 1 where he ran inside the top five for the opening four laps.
