Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Nate Thrasher secured silverware at the most recent SuperMotocross playoff round in St. Louis, his first ever podium in the series in just his fourth time competing. Whilst the chaos unfolded around him, Thrasher clocked consistent laps in both races to finish 6-4 and notch some more silverware, to his ever so confusing results from the 22 year old.
Since turning pro at the final two rounds of the outdoors in 2020, Thrasher has raced 75 times across motocross, supercross and SMX. In the 75 events, the Tennessee native has secured 12 podiums, 6 of those being wins indoors. Now with some silverware in the SMX series, Thrasher has demonstrated that he is a factor in both indoors and outdoors racing, but the long ladder to climb when dealing with numerous injuries remains the biggest hurdle.
What can we learn from this? Well, it is fair to say Thrasher’s results deserve more respect than the Star Racing man receives. Realistically, if healthy when heading into the 2026 supercross season, he should be in everyone’s championship shortlist. Six 250SX wins is an extremely impressive amount considering his lack of gate drops, and ironically means he has stood on the top step of the podium on half of his podium visits, insane!
It is great to see Thrasher notch another podium and look to finish the season strong, with just one more race remaining, and these strong results should not come at any surprise.
