The biggest event in motocross is fast approaching, as fans from around the world prepare to head to Indiana for the 2025 Motocross des Nations at Ironman Raceway. While leading nations like Australia and the U.S. rightfully dominate the headlines, several other teams enter the event with the strength to challenge for a strong result for their nation.

Switerzland: Jeremy Seewer (MXGP), Nico Greutmann (MX2), Valentin Guillod (OPEN)

The Swiss team is strong across the board, with the experienced standouts Jeremy Seewer and Valentin Guillod partnered alongside MXoN rookie Nico Greutmann. Ironman marks Seewer and Guillod’s 12th appearance at the event, and the pair have each had impressive showings for their nation in years past. Seewer’s best performance for Switzerland came at the 2022 MXoN at RedBud, where he finished 4-5 in the motos to secure 3rd overall in the MXGP class. Guillod’s best overall finish was just two years ago in Ernée, where he placed 4th overall in the OPEN class – proving the veterans still have plenty in the tank, with their most promising performances coming in recent years.

Guillod’s American adventure has paid off for the 32-year-old, finishing 9th in the Pro Motocross standings and adding to his earnings through the SMX Playoffs. Ironman Raceway is a track he’s already familiar with, having raced there this season, qualifying 8th and finishing 12th overall on the day. Seewer on the other hand, has struggled in the final six or so rounds but still enjoyed two trips to the MXGP podium earlier in the year, most notably at his home Grand Prix in Switzerland.

Nico Greutmann’s lack of experience at the event should not overshadow the talented Swiss rider, who has had a strong season with the Cat Moto Bauerschmidt Husqvarna team competing in the EMX250 and ADAC championships. Multiple podiums in both series illustrate his talent, securing him 4th in the EMX250 standings and 5th in the ADAC. One slight issue for Greutmann could be the equipment he is provided with, combined with his size. He is a big rider – very big for a 250 machine – but the Cat Moto squad have a great package and know how to maximize power out of their Husqvarna. With this year’s event being Stateside, the level of equipment Greutmann will have will certainly be interesting to watch.
