Official: Jorge Prado Released from Kawasaki Contract

Kawasaki have announced that Jorge Prado has been released from his contract with the organisation. The relationship between both parties had been poor for several months, and Prado’s debut American campaign fell well below expectations. The Spaniard voiced his unhappiness with the bike on several occasions, with tensions boiling over to the point where a Kawasaki team member commented on Prado’s season summary post on social media, claiming he was not a champion and that he was giving up.

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. has reached a settlement for the early release of Jorge Prado from his Kawasaki rider agreement, effective October 16, 2025. Kawasaki wishes the best for Jorge in his future endeavors.

The Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship kicks off on January 10, 2026 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

Prado is expected to be riding for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for the 2026 season, whilst Kawasaki are likely to have Chase Sexton and a yet unknown second rider for next year.
