Dutch talent Brian Bogers has announced his retirement from professional motocross this past weekend, after completing the last two seasons with the Factory Fantic MXGP team. Although Bogers is still only 29 years of age, the decision undoubtedly was a struggle to decide, and he provided an update for his fans below via Instagram.
“It’s time to say goodbye… My motocross career has come to an end, and what a journey it has been! I have been riding motocross bikes for 25 years of which 10 years mxgp. It’s funny that you start such a great sport just for fun, and later making a living out of it. Every rider dreams of being world champion ones but this I could never achieved, but on the other side getting several podium’s in mx2 and mxgp and even winning one, THE one in Lommel and being the best in the world for just one race feels pretty good, gives satisfaction and is nice to look back at. Thanks everyone for the great times!🙏🏻”
Bogers may not have achieved all of the goals he set out to accomplish as an up-and-coming rider; however, he has achieved a feat that many could only dream of, winning an MXGP overall at one of the toughest and most iconic Grand Prix venues on the calendar: Lommel. Alongside the memorable win in Belgium, the Dutchman has stood on the podium a further six times (three in MX2 and three in MXGP) and enjoyed stints of his career with Honda HRC, Standing Construct GasGas/Husqvarna, and his latest and final team, Fantic Factory Racing.
