Exclusive: Calvin Vlaanderen on His Move to Ducati

This morning, the official Factory Ducati MXGP team for the 2026 season was unveiled, featuring two new signings: Calvin Vlaanderen and Andrea Bonacorsi. We were fortunate enough to speak with both riders to hear their thoughts on joining Ducati and to reflect on their 2025 seasons.

Vlaanderen moves on after five successful years aboard Yamaha machinery, and the Italian-built Desmo450 MX will now be the bike he steers in pursuit of MXGP podiums. The 29-year-old believes the podium is a realistic goal, and he shared an open and honest insight into the immediate confidence he found in the bike, particularly with its rear-end handling. Another key addition to the Ducati camp is team manager Louis Vosters, whose arrival was another major factor that drew Vlaanderen toward the project.
