250 West:
Heat 1 – Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan dominated proceedings in the opening 250SX heat race, pulling the holeshot and leading every lap en route to a win, with a margin of 10 seconds over Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cameron McAdoo. McAdoo stalked ClubMX’s Max Vohland until pulling the trigger with two minutes remaining. AEO Powersports KTM pilot Carson Mumford came home in a solid fourth, whilst applying pressure to Vohland in the closing stages.

Heat 2 – Hunter Yoder put his Yamaha YZ250F at the front of the pack in the opening laps of 250SX Heat 2, before Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Max Anstie made a pass for the lead. Yoder continued to fight back before surrendering second place to Levi Kitchen. Kitchen was able to manipulate a poor start, coming around the first few turns inside the top three. Late in the race, Chance Hymas passed Yoder to move into third place, as Kitchen was slowly cutting into Anstie’s three-second advantage. Anstie’s lead was never really in any danger, and he crossed the line to secure a Star Racing sweep of the heat races to begin the year.

450SX:
Heat 1 – A wild opening lap saw defending 450SX champion Cooper Webb run into the side of race leader Aaron Plessinger as he looked to defend the inside from Jorge Prado. They both fell, leaving the Spaniard to take over the lead ahead of TLD Ducati’s Justin Barcia. Webb began to battle back inside the top nine, as Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Eli Tomac applied pressure onto the rear wheel of Barcia’s Desmo450. The second Ducati pilot, Dylan Ferrandis, reeled the pair into his sights until Tomac made the pass for second with one minute remaining. On the final lap, the two KTM riders were split by just 0.5 of a second as Tomac applied intense pressure on his teammate. Clever race craft in the final turn secured Prado the victory and proved a lot of doubters wrong after an extremely difficult 2025 with Kawasaki.

Heat 2 – Another wild opening to the second 450SX heat race saw four riders navigate their way through the first rhythm section before heads-up riding from Ken Roczen and Chase Sexton allowed both to avoid colliding mid-air. Roczen began to settle into first place as Sexton suffered a nasty crash jumping into the over-under. Thankfully, the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider regrouped and climbed back to fifth place. RJ Hampshire, Garrett Marchbanks and Justin Cooper were locked in a battle for ninth place, with three factory riders fighting for the final transfer spot. Roczen went on to win the second heat race aboard his Suzuki, ahead of Hunter Lawrence and fellow Suzuki rider Jason Anderson. Marchbanks and Cooper missed direct qualification to the main event and are LCQ bound.

250 LCQ – Michael Mosiman, Crockett Myers, Matti Jorgensen and Lorenzo Camporese all qualified for the main event as Jack Chambers narrowly missed out on qualifying for the opening round of the season.

450 LCQ – Aaron Plessinger, Justin Cooper, Colt Nichols and Mitchell Harrison all qualified for the 450 main event in a fairly uneventful race. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Garrett Marchbanks will want to quickly forget Anaheim 1, however, as he crashed in the whoops, throwing away a chance of qualifying for the season opener.

250SX West Main Event – Ryder DiFrancesco grabbed the holeshot, while Levi Kitchen hit the deck in the first turn and Haiden Deegan was left buried after a poor start. Max Anstie wasted little time moving forward and made the pass for the lead with eight minutes remaining, quickly putting the race under control. Moments later, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cameron McAdoo suffered a heavy crash, ending his chances of a result. Out front, Anstie rode clear to a comfortable victory, with Chance Hymas securing second place, while DiFrancesco held on for a career-first podium in third. Deegan fought back to fourth, with Kitchen finishing sixth.

450SX Main Event – The opening lap was quickly red-flagged after multiple riders went down, including Malcolm Stewart, Jason Anderson and Justin Barcia. On the restart, Jorge Prado grabbed the holeshot before Eli Tomac charged into the lead in the opening moments of the race, as Ken Roczen moved into second early on with Prado settling into third. It was a tough race for Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton, both getting poor starts, with Sexton making multiple mistakes and running off track, while Webb went down with four minutes remaining. Sexton had another off-track moment as the race wore on, and with two laps to go Tomac and Roczen had stretched a staggering 25-second gap over third place. Tomac went on to take the win, marking his first victory on a fourth different manufacturer, with Roczen finishing second and Jorge Prado securing his first-ever 450SX podium in third.
