Round two of the AMA Supercross Championship has commenced here at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, with the sun beaming down onto the SoCal dirt. Anaheim 1 winner Eli Tomac picked up where he left off by claiming pole position in the opening 450SX qualifying session, nearly one second quicker than Star Racing Yamaha’s Justin Cooper. Despite dislocating his shoulder and breaking his scapula last weekend, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Malcolm Stewart finished third in Q1, very impressive from Mookie! In the opening 250SX West qualifying session, Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Levi Kitchen laid down a heater in the closing stages to claim top spot in Q1, ahead of Haiden Deegan and Ryder DiFrancesco.
Haiden Deegan put a stop to Kitchen’s three-for-three pole position streak in qualifying, edging him by just 0.052. Ryder D looked really, really good in Q2, with those three a clear notch above the rest as positions continued to swap throughout the session. Kitchen crashed pretty hard after the first whoop section and appeared to be in some discomfort; however, he got back up on his own accord and rode off.
250SX West:

450SX
Eli Tomac claimed his 45th fastest qualifier as he posted a lap time of 52.182, with his Red Bull KTM teammate Jorge Prado claiming second place, just 0.3 seconds slower than Tomac — what a crazy start to 2026 for KTM! Roczen was just 0.01 off the Spaniard, with Lawrence and Cooper rounding out the top five. Two red flags in the session were due to incidents involving Mitchell Oldenburg and Austin Forkner.
