250SX West Heat 1:
ClubMX duo Hunter Yoder and Maximus Vohland led the way after the pair rocketed out to an amazing start. Vohland made his way into the lead with around two minutes to go, with Honda HRC Progressive’s Chance Hymas positioned in third. The ClubMX pair secured first and second in the opening heat, logging impressive laps. Levi Kitchen got off to a poor start, battling his way into fourth from outside the top ten, posting the fastest lap time of the race (0:54.263). Wageman, Bourdon, Turner, Mumford and Shive rounded out the qualifying spots.

250SX West Heat 2:
Monster Energy Star Racing’s trio crossed the line running first through third, with series points leader Max Anstie leading the way ahead of Deegan and Mosiman. Deegan hounded Anstie until two minutes to go, making his way around the Brit and beginning to pull away from the field, while Anstie kept him honest. Mosiman rode a quiet race in third, with McAdoo, Ryder D, Ross, Varize, Long and Schlosser rounding out the qualifying spots.

450SX Heat 1:
Jorge Prado pulled an incredible holeshot in front of Jason Anderson and Joey Savatgy, with Hunter Lawrence and Chase Sexton closest behind. Defending champion Cooper Webb fought his way into a transfer with only a handful of laps to go, and to be honest, I didn’t even notice the number 1 until the final laps. Sexton found another level, passing Anderson and Prado to take home the opening heat race victory. Prado finished second ahead of Anderson, Savatgy, Lawrence, McElrath, Nichols, Webb and Friese. A real impressive ride from Sexton, and to be honest, he needed it!

450SX Heat 2:
Ken Roczen rocketed out of the gate and began to piece together lightning laps to pull away from Hampshire, Plessinger and Tomac. Hampshire tucked the front, dropping back to ninth, while Tomac passed his teammate Plessinger on the same lap, but Roczen already held a five second advantage by the time ET3 was positioned behind him. Ferrandis worked his way into fourth aboard his Ducati with around two minutes remaining. Justin Hill made an impressive pass on Justin Cooper through the whoops, squaring the Star Racing rider up in the turn and making a great run through the long set, but Cooper reclaimed the position before the chequered flag. Roczen took a comfortable six second victory ahead of Tomac, Plessinger, Ferrandis, Craig, Stewart, Hampshire, Cooper and Hill.

250SX West Main:
Well, it was chaotic until it wasn’t in 250SX West. Star Racing’s Max Anstie led the way early before teammate Haiden Deegan made a move on the inside and made contact, knocking Anstie down and taking over the lead. Cameron McAdoo, Chance Hymas and Michael Mosiman were locked in a battle for second until Hymas narrowly avoided a massive crash, just managing to save it before surrendering three positions and dropping back to sixth. Levi Kitchen went down in the first turn, leaving himself a mountain to climb, however, he charged back to fourth, though he’ll no doubt leave Snapdragon Stadium disappointed. Out front, Deegan ran away with it, eventually taking the win by seven seconds, with McAdoo and Mosiman rounding out the podium. Anstie salvaged fifth, losing the red plate heading into A2.

450SX Main Event:
The 450SX main event began with Hunter Lawrence grabbing the holeshot and leading the early laps as Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac settled in behind him, the trio quickly breaking away from the field. Around the five-minute mark, Roczen moved into the lead with Tomac close by, pushing Lawrence back to third. Tomac later worked his way to the front, while Lawrence regrouped in the closing stages and made a late push, moving back into second and applying pressure on the final lap. It wasn’t quite enough, and Tomac took the win to make it 2-for-2 to start the season, also claiming his 55th career Supercross victory. Lawrence finished second with Roczen completing the podium.
