Another unlucky incident in the sand, right as he was in title contention, has derailed some early-season momentum for ECSTAR Suzuki’s Ken Roczen. Current series points leader Hunter Lawrence showed immense speed in the latter stages of the main event in Seattle and looked to make a pass up the inside of Roczen for third place. The move resulted in both riders going down, handing the final podium spot to Justin Cooper. Roczen drew the shorter straw, remounting to finish 10th, while Lawrence salvaged fourth place and retained the red plate.
