Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Eli Tomac rounded out a strong night in Arlington, Texas, securing his fifth podium in seven rounds with a second-place finish. However, it was a night many heavy hitters had been waiting for, as Hunter Lawrence stood on the top step of the 450SX podium for the first time in his career.
Now, Tomac trails Lawrence by just four points heading into Daytona next weekend – a venue Tomac is extremely fond of, given his rich history of success at the speedway.
Words: KTM Press Release
Eli Tomac: “Those first laps absolutely saved my race. I had to make some quick moves there and was able to find those openings to pass two-to-three riders at a time. By lap two or three, I could see the front of the race and thought, ‘I’m okay, I can work with this.’ What a difficult track [it was] tonight. Of course, I fought to the end as much as I could and second is what we had. Thank you to Red Bull KTM – we’ll come back swinging in Daytona.”
