Bad news for Kay de Wolf fans, as the young Dutchman sustained a thumb injury at the French race in Sommières last weekend and will miss the final pre-season race in Lierop.

It’s understood the issue required surgical intervention earlier this week, ruling the MXGP rookie out of the home event.

“I will be missing the Dutch MX Season Opener this weekend at Lierop. I’m really bummed to not race this special track. But we will be back soon!!” de Wolf revealed via Instagram.
