Maxime Renaux will make a major change for the 2027 season, joining Red Bull KTM Factory Racing after bringing his decade-long partnership with Yamaha to an end. The Frenchman will line up in the MXGP class aboard the KTM 450 SX-F, joining Andrea Adamo as part of the team’s premier-class programme.
Renaux has been a familiar face within the Yamaha set-up for more than ten years, progressing through the junior ranks before reaching the pinnacle of the sport. His standout achievement came in 2021, when he was crowned MX2 World Champion during his first season as a factory Yamaha rider. He then made the move into the MXGP class, where he has continued to establish himself as a front-running competitor, securing three Grand Prix victories in the premier class across 2022, 2023 and 2025.
The move to KTM marks the beginning of a new chapter for the 26-year-old, who will now work alongside the De Carli team as he looks to build on his experience and challenge at the front of the MXGP field. With a fresh environment and new machinery for 2027, Renaux will be looking to make an immediate impression in orange.
